Cheese Slicer

Cheese Slicer

Soft cheese knives have several special characteristics which make them ideal for cutting cheese. Cheese knives are designed to deal with the stickiness of soft cheese. When the cheese does not stick to the blade, it allows for pieces of cheese to be presented more attractively, with crisper shapes compared to cheese cut with standard knives. The blades of cheese knives are usually made of a material, such as stainless steel, which is resistant to the stickiness of cheese. Another design feature often found is the presence of holes in the blade to help to prevent the cheese from sticking to it. Some soft cheese knives also include a ridge, which runs vertically near the top of the blade. This helps separate the cheese as it is being sliced. Some cheese knives have a forked end and is used for serving slices of cheese.Furthermore, the shape is unusual. Most knives have a blade that is wide at the base and tapers to the tip. A cheese knife, on the other hand, is similar to a cleaver in that it starts out thinner at the handle and then gets wider away from the base. Some cheese knives have angled handles to make an easier cut.

Pepper Grinder

Pepper Grinder

Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is a flowering vine in the family Piperaceae, cultivated for its fruit, which is usually dried and used as a spice and seasoning. The fruit, known as a peppercorn when dried, is approximately 5 millimetres (0.20 in) in diameter, dark red when fully mature, and, like all drupes, contains a single seed. Peppercorns, and the powdered pepper derived from grinding them, may be described simply as pepper, or more precisely as black pepper (cooked and dried unripe fruit), green pepper (dried unripe fruit) and white pepper (dried ripe seeds).Black pepper is native to south India, and is extensively cultivated there and elsewhere in tropical regions. Currently Vietnam is the world's largest producer and exporter of pepper, producing 34% of the world's Piper nigrum crop as of 2008.Dried ground pepper has been used since antiquity for both its flavour and as a medicine. Black pepper is the world's most traded spice.

Klassen was born on February 20, 1918 in Rudnerweide, Ukraine to Bernhard and Susanna Klassen.[4] He had two sisters and two brothers: Sarah, Katie, Korni, and Henry; four, six, ten, and twelve years his senior, respectively. When Klassen was nine months old, he caught typhoid fever and nearly died. His earliest memories were of the famine of 1921–22. He remembered his father rationing to him one slice of dark bread for dinner. Klassen was first introduced to religion at the age of "three or four." Klassen recalls his mother praising him for the "verve and loudness" with which he sang hymns. When he was five, the family moved to Mexico, where they lived for one year. The first stop on their trip was in Moscow, where Klassen was introduced to electric lights and ice cream. The next stop was Riga, Latvia, then on to Berlin, Germany where they stayed for some time. They stopped in Cologne where his father and brothers went to see the sights, including the famous Cologne Cathedral. Next, the Klassen family went to Paris, where they again went sight-seeing, visiting the Eiffel Tower and other famous landmarks. From Paris they took a train to their embarkation point across the Atlantic

Kitchen Tools

Kitchen Tools

A kitchen utensil is a hand-held, typically small tool or utensil that is used in the kitchen, for food-related functions. A cooking utensil is a utensil used in the kitchen for cooking. Other names for the same thing, or subsets thereof, derive from the word "ware", and describe kitchen utensils from a merchandising (and functional) point of view: kitchenware, wares for the kitchen; ovenware and bakeware, kitchen utensils that are for use inside ovens and for baking; cookware, merchandise used for cooking; and so forth.A partially overlapping category of tools is that of eating utensils, which are tools used for eating (c.f. the more general category of tableware). Some utensils are both kitchen utensils and eating utensils. Cutlery (i.e. knives and other cutting implements) can be used for both food preparation in a kitchen and as eating utensils when dining. Other cutlery such as forks and spoons are both kitchen and eating utensils.
